KidsACT! Summer Drama Day Camps will once again be held this summer, sponsored by the Valley Players. Director Ruth Ann Pattee began KidsACT! Camps in 1998 to provide theater learning opportunities for young people. The programs are tailored for different age groups and abilities and include musical and non-musical theater. Camps are held at the Valley Players Theater on Rt. 100 in Waitsfield, a real working theater where kids can get a hands-on, all-around drama experience. KidsACT! programs strive to boost confidence levels, teach new skills, and, most of all, have fun.

This summer's offerings are two Musical Theater camps, Aug. 2 - 6 for ages 11-14, and  August 16 - 20 for ages 8-10. Both camps will run Monday through Friday from 10 am to 3 pm, and campers will learn songs, choreography and dialogue, and paint sets, make props and costumes to put on a short musical play. Acting games are also included. Each camp will have a performance that is free and open to the public, Aug. 6 at 7 pm and Aug. 20 at 6:30 pm. 

On August 24, 25, and 26 there will be an Introduction to Theater Mini Camp for ages 5 and up from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Campers can come one, two, or all three days.No advanced sign-up is necessary. There is no scheduled performance but parents are encouraged to come at 11:15 to watch the daily "wrap-up".
